Mumbo Jumbo or Visionary?

I used to be very sceptical about biodynamic wines. It seemed like some sort of witchcraft. Adding preparations, following the moon's cycle etc. But now I’m starting to believe! Some of the very best wines I’ve tasted recently have been biodynamic. The application of the herbal solutions seems to enrich the soil. I’m even had to think again about my scepticism for the effect lunar cycles. As Jerome Esteve of Chateau Montfin said to me last week, it does affect the tides and how things grow. Jerome is certain that the vines he planted at a propitious time last year have taken fantastically well.

Who knows? One thing I do know is that most biodynamic winemakers are amongst the most assiduous, committed and passionate winemakers I have met.
