UPDATE - We have some new wines from Burgundy

Domaine Normand Esus Pinot Noir is a fantastic example of this grape from a part of Burgundy better known for whites. Grapes from 40 year old vines have been vinified with natural yeasts and then matured in oak barrels. Really intense flavours and good length.

The Macon Igé from Domaine Normand is a rich intense wine with lovely fruit and freshness - no ageing in oak.

Domaine Pampres d'Or Prestige Blanc has been aged in oak to give it a nice complexity with subtle vanilla flavours complementing citrus and melon fruit flavours

Burgundy makes some of the world's finest and most famous wines, but it's not easy to find value. The area is relatively small and worldwide demand high. This situation has been compounded by a series of poor vintages. Frost and hail have ravaged the region.

It took us 2 visits to the region to find wines we are proud to sell from Domaine des Pampres d'Or.  Julien Perras is making some lovely wines.

We then added Domaine Normand. They produce wonderful wines the Maconais, using indigenous yeasts and without the use of any herbicides.

If you like the crisp flavours of unoaked Chablis you could also try Domaine Salmon Chardonnay, a Loire wine sharing these characteristics, made at the same latitude.
