Rhone
A wonderful region full of history. Some of the most famous Appellations have become very expensive : Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Cote Rotie, Hermitage. Great wines but not for everyday drinking. We have set out to find great wines from the Southern Rhone that match the quality, but not the price tags of these famous regions
We have also found some fantastic Rhone style reds in the Roussillon, where they grow the same grape varieties.
Jean-Baptiste Trille’s Pedra Lluna is everything a Chateauneuf-du-Pape should be, (but sadly many aren’t). Deep and dark, it is a huge wine with fantastic weight and depth of flavour.
If you like history this is a fantastic region to visit. Mediaeval Avignon is beautiful. Don’t miss the fantastic markets - great local food, local pottery and lots more
