Chateau Montfin Cuvée Mathilde 2017 AOP Corbieres 14.5%. Certified organic.
Deep dark wine with intense aromas of fruit and spice. Very full and rich on the palate. Lingering flavours. Made from old vine Carignan (60%), Grenache(30%) amd Mourvedre (10%). Half of the blend is matured in new oak. Excellent with a hearty stew or mature cheese. An exceptional wine from a region that is yet to receive the critical acclaim it deserves.

"Deep, dark and rich, but supple and sinewy too, this is high-class winemaking from a blend of Carignan and Grenache, old-vines bringing that wonderful balance of ripe tannins and black-fruited concentration with Mediterranean herb and peppery spice, a touch of liquorice and black olive, too, but feeling so fresh and drinkable."
